Week 6 Blog 3/3

I think this week we have gained a deeper understanding of DNA and RNA knowledge. We checked our plant and found that he has grown fruits. Although he has not yet fully grown, he already has a pod like part. I also saw the butterfly brought by the teacher. We used candy to simulate the arrangement and appearance models of DNA and RNA, which is a very interesting activity that can be used as a reference for teaching children in the future, And we finally drew the portraits of Mason and me as "daughters" by flipping coins, which was also a very interesting activity. I think it has made me more familiar with the knowledge of DNA, and also taught me how to teach children this knowledge in simple and interesting ways.

This week's class taught me the wonders of DNA, which I found very interesting. It allowed me to recognize specific concepts of blood type and chromosomes. I think it is very helpful for our knowledge reserve. These different cell structures can also stimulate students' interest in learning. The seedlings we planted also bloomed and grew very long. We put a loop on them so that they could grow in a fixed direction. Looking forward to seeing my little bud next time.

Week 4 Blog 2/18

This week's knowledge is about the food chain. I loved watching the animal world when I was a child, so I have a relatively good understanding of the food chain. I think this knowledge is particularly interesting. The survival rules of the fittest and the food chain in the animal world can also be applied to our society, which is equally cruel. I think this knowledge can not only help us understand the rules of nature, but also educate our children to study hard so that they won't be surpassed by others, just like being chased by natural enemies. However, we also need to learn about symbiosis in the animal world and mutual assistance. These are all life insights that we can learn, which are very educational.

Our seeds sprouted this week! Super cute little sprouts, also I learned about the idea of the 5E model, ENGAGEMENT, EXPLANATION, EXPLANATION, ELABORATION, and EVALUATION, where the teacher and the student both represent different roles, I have never been exposed to these before and it was new knowledge for me. I feel that these can be used in my future lesson plans as a good example.

This week's class learned about the biological cycle, plants and animals, the process from seeds and eggs to flowers, grass, and large animals, especially the process from caterpillars to butterflies. I think although this type of knowledge is common sense, it still amazes me when we see it up close. I think it's very interesting. In the future, I also hope my children can learn these knowledge, and I think they will be very interested. It's a very interesting class.
